A Brief History of our Instructors, Assistants, Creators/Co-Creators of Our Programs
Andrea Frohlick is the creator of the Advanced Program, while having great input on our Beginner Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of French Education from the University of Regina. Her passion for the French language was first developed while living and studying in the city of lights, Paris. She later went on to get a North American perspective of the French Culture while pursuing her studies in Quebec City. She has taught Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 2 for the past seven years in Calgary. Her firm belief is that children who learn a second language at an early age will benefit greatly throughout their lives.
Madame McKinney is our owner, administrator and generally the one who makes it all happen! She founded Active Learning Nursery École after when trying to place her son in a Preschool she discovered a void in Calgary for Parents looking for a French Preschool but weren’t Francophone themselves. She styled her Preschool after her main passions; Music, Dance, and Art. She has over 15 years of experience educating children both scholastically and musically. Trisha feels there is a need to properly prepare today’s youth for the education system, so that everyone regardless of their scholastic predispositions can reach their full potential.
Madame Carter comes to us from the Clearwater Academy as the Pre-K Teacher. She has a strong background in Preschools and has over ten years’ experience as a Preschool Director. She has a strong passion for movement as when she was earning her Bachelors of Education at the University of Manitoba she was a member of the U of M Women’s Gymnastics Team and Head Coach of the Aerial Gymnastics Club. Madame Carter is very comfortable in a French Bilingual environment from her years of living in Winnipeg. Eileen is teaching the 2- day intermediate and Advanced.
Madame Clancy is our newest Teaching addition and comes to us from the Emerald Isle. While she acquired her International Montessori Teaching degree in London England she began her Teaching career in Indonesia instructing grades 1 thru 12. When she arrived in Canada she brought the diversity of teaching abroad to Calgary Montessori working with children ages 2 – 6. She was able to acquire a Canadian Bachelor of Education and a Childcare Supervisor from the Province of Alberta. With a break for mothering four children Madame Clancy returned to teaching Preschool at Rundle College Primary specializing in language arts and special needs.
