Philosophy

At Active Learning Nursery École our main focus is to prepare your child to enter a French Immersion program. We feel that the benefits of your child becoming poly-lingual will follow them into their adult lives and become an immense asset in their respective careers.

Our objectives are:

To create a strong English base for their Language Skills as they develop and introduce French via word substitution and object recognition.
To teach your child the manners and social etiquette of a classroom environment wherein they are able to wait their turn without becoming upset or work with another classmate on a project.
To develop their attention span where they can focus on one task without easily becoming distracted.

Our approach takes into consideration your child’s emotional maturity and their cognitive stamina when we determine how much class participation we expect from them, as all children develop and mature at different rates.

For your child to enter such a program we must ensure that we offer the highest level of instruction. To attain this we offer one of lowest instructor to student ratios in the City (as low as 1 to 5) so that our instructor can give your child the most one-on-one tutelage while still having the social dynamic of a classroom environment.

A child that has only had a one-on-one environment prior to Kindergarten can easily become lost or shy when put into a class with as many as twenty other students and only one teacher.

At Active Learning Nursery École we view ourselves in partnership with the parent in the learning process, wherein the instruction that they receive at this facility must be followed up with at home, not only the curriculum but the etiquette requirements as well.
